Teaching with Technology in the Classroom

Currently I am in my last semester of the teacher education program at the University of Ottawa. One of the courses I am taking is called, " Integrating Technology in the Classroom". I am extremely excited to explore the new technologies in this course and integrate them into my teaching practices.

I believe technology plays an increasingly important role in our daily lives. Students today are digital natives’; teachers need to get on board with integrating technology into the classroom. Technology has been feared for many years and I believe in our fast pace world it is beneficial for our future students to be taught how to stay current with the technological dominating society they will be entering into.

Using appropriate technology regularly in lessons will enable students to successfully enter the continuously advancing technological world. Personally, I have a very strong background with technology and will definitely implement it throughout various subjects when I have my own classroom. My experiences in todays classrooms have been very positive regarding teaching with technology. They have shaped my thinking towards a strong technology based teaching approach.
