Wiggle your toes, stomp your feet!
Miss Prentice is here, take a seat!

Hi everyone,
A little about me. I grew up in Cobourg, ON and did my undergrad in Psychology at Trent University. I have long felt the desire to teach, motivate and guide children which is reflected in my experiences. Since the age of 16, I have been a swimming instructor and Lifeguard at two YMCA’s; teaching a variety of ages (newborns-12), abilities, and class types. I have volunteered in three primary classes; gaining insight into the significance of teaching different ways to meet individual needs. For several years I have helped set up a primary classroom for a new school year; learning how important organizational procedures are in setting the tone for a successful start up. Also I have worked at the YMCA in Childcare (with preschoolers), where the play to learn curriculum is used. I have worked with small groups of children with common developmental levels where I engaged them in readiness activities which provides important foundations in mathematics, reading and writing, science, and technology through play based activities.
I lead a very active healthy lifestyle with a background in sports and dance. I have experience working as a personal trainer. I’ve lived in Alberta and British Columbia for a couple years and in the summer of 2015 backpacked through Europe for a month.
I am enthusiastically excited to start my teaching journey, I have been thoroughly enjoying the ride and am so looking forward to what the future brings.
